Where is the Pain Originating From?
While pain may manifest itself in the arm or leg, it often originates in the spine. All of the innervation in the body’s extremities, your arms and legs, comes from the nerves that exit the cervical spine. When people irritate a nerve in the neck or low back, it often sends a signal down to the hand or leg.
Disrupted Nerves in the Back and Neck Can Cause Arm and Leg Pain.
The disrupted nerve's in the back will continue to cause pain in the arms and legs until freed from it’s irritation. Chiropractic care can help with the arm and leg pain by reducing the pressure on nerves that are irritated in the neck or the lower back.
Nerves in the Neck can be Compressed by Bones, Discs, or Muscles
Nerves in the neck can be compressed by bones, discs, or muscles. Same thing as in the low back. The goal is to figure out exactly what is creating the problem, by the patient’s history, a thorough exam, range of motion tests, palpation, and x-rays if needed. We can then effectively treat the root cause of the pain. So by adjusting the spine, and performing therapies to the neck or back area, we are able to improve if not eliminate most arm and leg pain problems.
